Insightful postmortem on Wesabe. Working out what lessons I need to learn from this.
Recap of a great talk given by Marc Hedlund at ETech in 2006. Re-reading this now, it’s fascinating how much had lodged itself in my brain as “obviously true” and thus subconsciously shaping my decision to start Offline Labs.
Wesabe have created an open API to allow folks to hack on their bank account data. I foresee some stonking visualization work coming out of this that will put Quicken, Microsoft Money, etc to shame.
Marc Hedlund’s start-up launches. Looks like an awesome light-weight social web-based finance manager, for folks for whom Quicken is too much hassle. Whether users will entrust their financial info to Web 2.0 remains to be seen.
Marc Hedlund’s “Proverbs” for engineers who want to be entrepeneurs. Great stuff.
