HEAVENLY DEAL: XM & Sirius to Merge

I’ve been claiming this as an inevitability for some time — The satellite radio “battle” has been so reminiscent of the British satellite TV war in the early nineties that merger was the only way out.

XM Inno

XM Inno

I'm playing with a loaned XM Inno radio at the moment. It's considerably shinier than my olde Roady -- Nice colour screen, the ability to save tracks you like, and a reasonably decent UI for browsing stations (better than the one on the competing Sirius player.)

And hey! If they're getting sued by the RIAA, they've got to be doing _something_ right!

On board the Airtran plane, you can listen to XM Radio. Really quite a nifty idea -- *Much* better than the usual dreck you get on inflight "entertainment"

MLB on XM

MLB on XM

Rather nattily, the display on my XM radio shows the Sox score, so I can keep track of the game while driving, whilst listening to music on my iPod.
