W. T. EFF?

Hrmmm… For years, I’ve been under the impression that EFF stood for “Electronic Freedom Frontier”, but I just noticed on my credit card bill that their name is really “Electronic Frontier Foundation”.

A quick Google search shows I’m not alone in my confusion, but the phrase only appears once anywhere on eff.org.

Anyone know the history of their name?

Microsoft Leaks New Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard

I love Microsoft’s ergonomic keyboards, and am delighted to see that the next model will have the proper Home/End/Delete block layout.

Home Energy Yardstick

Tool to calculate how good your household’s energy usage is. Comparatively, our’s is horrendous. I wonder if we can train Bacon to run around in a wheel…?

Kiko - A New Kind of Online Calendar

Early days yet (definitely falling into the half-an-app rather than half-assed-app), but this is a good start on the shared web-calendar problem. If they solve syncing-with-Outlook in a decent manner, they’ll be millionaires by Christmas.

The Music Genome Project launch their little music player app. Not sure yet if I like it, but its recommendations certainly are interesting — based upon musical elements, rather than your usual “People who listened to Super Furry Animals also listened to…” approach.
