I am the ghost of groovymother.com. Woooooo!

This is an old page from Rod Begbie's blog.

It only exists in an attempt to prevent linkrot. No new content will be added to this site, and links and images are liable to be broken. Check out begbie.com to find where I'm posting stuff these days.

My Brother-(in-law)^2's band. Fine garage-rawk tunes can be found at their MySpace page.

This Is Fake DIY

Indie news/reviews website. Focuses on the shiny, fun, P!O!P! side of the indie coin, to my immense delight. And it’s named after a bis song, so how can you go wrong?

Crated Bacon

Crated Bacon

Bacon suffered a back injury this week -- A slipped disc or a pinched nerve, reckons the vet. Poor little bugger has the be kept in his crate (except for "short leashed walks") for two weeks.

Since he's caged and being fed steroids, Keith suggested we should rename him "Veal".

Creating Passionate Users: The strangest, easiest way to lose weight

Kathy Sierra promotes the “Shangri-La Diet”. The skeptic in me believes that this is, of course, complete bobbins — extra light olive snake oil, if you will — but I’m still curious to try it.

BBC NEWS | Americas | Immigrants begin US boycott day

Damnit! Why didn’t I find out about this until I was already at my desk? I could totally have done with pulling a sickie, and pretending it was a political statement.

OFF THE TELLY: Comedy: "Fool If You Think It's Over"

Incredible story of how a fan bought the DVD rights to the excellent, but forgotten, BBC sitcom “Joking Apart” (written by Stephen Moffat of Press Gang and Coupling fame). I only caught a couple of episodes, but loved it, and can’t wait to buy this.

“You got links in my blog” “You got blog in my links”

Thanks to the magic of MultiBlog, I’ve finally gotten around to moving my linksblog out of its left-hand-side purgatory, and mixed it up in the main column of the site. Since about 99% of my activity here is linkage, it seemed right to promote it.

And hey! Perhaps it will shame me into writing more proper content sometime, since now it’ll drop off the front page even faster. (Or—more likely—I’ll continue being a lazy arse. Who can say?)

Napster's Free Service FAQ

Napster (remember them?) launch free streaming of most tracks in their catalogue. Unlike Rhapsody’s service, it requires registration first, and forces you to sit through advertising every few tracks.

Colbert Lampoons Bush at White House Correspondents Dinner-- President Not Amused?

Stephen Colbert performs a superbly scathing speech at the White House Correspondents Dinner. President? Not laughing. “When the president decides something on Monday, he still believes it on Wednesday - no matter what happened Tuesday.”
