The second flyer I received from Scientologists today. Rather disingenuously, this one doesn't feature the word "scientology" anywhere on it. (It's credited to the "Citizens Commission on Human Rights® International")
It's only because of that whole BBC Panorama farrago from a few weeks that I know that the "An Industry Of Death" thing is anything to do with them.
Most bizarre thing spotted in a Hollywood gift-shop so far.
Flyer from the first time (of three) I was approached by Scientologists on Hollywood Boulevard today. At least this one mentions Scientology.
Sums up how I feel about the whole fucking stupid “email addresses stored in iTunesPlus files” storm in a teacup. I’m ashamed to be an EFF supporter sometimes.
In case anyone’s looking for them, the slides and (limited) notes from my talk at Ignite Boston last night.
When Bacon's in the back of the car, and I'm stopped in traffic, he loves sticking his head out the window and getting adoration from the other drivers.
Road testing my new GPS in Cambridge gave this rather bizarre instruction (it's telling me to take a "left on Magazine St", but the illustration is actually taking a right onto Massachusetts Ave).

Renderer for that awesome squiggly last.fm-over-time visualization I posted a couple of weeks ago. Very excited to see my results from this!
The blinding light of the LCD projector, above a pretty full (and frustratingly loud-at-the-back) room.
Avoiding any problems of “competing” standards, the Dojo Offline project are interfacing with Google Gears as an optional offline storage platform. Great to see.
Clips from their joint interview (the full interview is also available). BillG clarifying he’s not Fake Steve Jobs is one of the most bizarre, awesome and meta things I’ve heard in a long time.
Firefox and IE extension from Google which enables offline webapps. Currently works with Google Reader, but not GMail yet.
Twitter add a page listing all the times someone @s a message at you. I found a couple of times someone I’m not following has responded to me!
last.fm bought by TV & radio network, CBS. OK, the radio connection makes a little sense, but still strikes me that the other half of Viacom would have been a better match.
MS’s entry into the multitouch world. Very much positioned as a whizzy demo kiosk, much like touchscreens were twenty years ago.
Good to know — the hotel we’ll be staying at in San Francisco next week is right above a Lush store.
Cool new street-level 360º views on Google Maps. Only a handful of cities so far.
British charity single to promote a documentary on the disenfranchisement of old people in the UK — a choir of OAPs performing “My Generation”.
This is an archive of groovmother.com, the old blog run by Rod Begbie — A Scottish geek who lives in San Francisco, CA.
I'm the co-founder of Sōsh, your handy-dandy guide for things to do in San Francisco this weekend.
