This is an old page from Rod Begbie's blog.

It only exists in an attempt to prevent linkrot. No new content will be added to this site, and links and images are liable to be broken. Check out begbie.com to find where I'm posting stuff these days.

Lobel: Manny fined -- and wasn't happy about it

Conjecture and rumours about Manny Ramirez — Are we seeing the start of a “Nomar is not a team player”-style whispering campaign by the Sox front office to appease fans before they don’t re-sign Manny for next year?

Safety first in Bangkok

Ever wondered what the international pictogram is for “girl on girl fisting”? It’s like xkcd porn.

Dr. Horrible's Freeze Ray Will Stop the World

Summary of Joss Whedon’s new online musical miniseries. I plopped down the $4 for a “season pass” in iTunes, and loved the first episode. Looking forward to episode 2 arriving in iTunes tonight.

Phishy

Phishy

One problem with OAuth and similar authentication systems -- When the browser is embedded in the application (as in this case with AirMe, but I also saw it in Exposure) with no URL visible, you have no idea if you're giving your username and password to Yahoo, or to some phisher.

RA DIOHEA_D / HOU SE OF_C ARDS - Google Code

New Radiohead video was shot without cameras, instead using lasers to get 3D data which was visualized. Chunks of the data are available from Google, so you can have a go at processing it yourself.

Shazam iPhone app

Probably the best free app on the iPhone so far: Hold your iPhone near a music source, and it will identify the track for you. My initial tests against slightly fuzzy FM radio and the background music in a crowded theatre worked perfectly. Wicked cool!
