I am the ghost of groovymother.com. Woooooo!

This is an old page from Rod Begbie's blog.

It only exists in an attempt to prevent linkrot. No new content will be added to this site, and links and images are liable to be broken. Check out begbie.com to find where I'm posting stuff these days.

dynaTrace AJAX Edition

Really in-depth front-end web performance tool. Like the “Net” tab of Firebug, but more so. Windows and IE (!) only.

Yahoo! UI Library (YUI)

Wicked-nifty Javascript UI library, generously open-sourced by Yahoo. Using this with Django and Lucene, I was able to knock out a pretty decent AJAXy autocompleting search box within 24 hours of opening my big yap in a meeting and suggesting it as a feature. (The “Design Pattern Library” is also worth a read to anyone who juggles HTML)

Qloud

Some kind of weird audioscrobbler-type thing, that allows you to deal with Tags inside iTunes. Or something. Their site is incomprehensibly flashy and slidey and swoopy and I only got five hours sleep last night.

youngpup.net - Say Hello to Halfnote

Rather spiffy browser-based TODO.TXT from Aaron “Greasemonkey” Boodman. Minimal, secure, distributed, and AJAXtastic.

AjaxTerm

Jeepers, this is a cool hack. VT100-emulator running in Javascript over AJAX to allow you to remote-control a server over HTTP.

Simple group chat for business: Campfire

37signals’s new site — an AJAXy chat tool. No installation necessary, more usable than IRC, and less susceptible to shonky firewalls than instant messaging, but I’m not sure I’m comfortable with 37signals hosting transcripts of business conversations & files.

The 3 Hour Tour is Now Available! : FeedLounge

Finally had a chance to play with FeedLounge. It’s a very nice interface, that’s for sure — I’d recommend this over Bloglines to new RSS users. I’m probably going to stick with self-hosted Gregarius for now, though, since it’s free and free.

This? Is wicked cool. Using Google Maps to present an easy interface for the geocoding of Wikipedia articles.

Google Reader

Google’s long-rumoured RSS-reader launched. Tagging, keyboard navigation, and server-based? If they can up the responsiveness of the server, Bloglines may well be fucked.

FeedTree: collaborative RSS and Atom delivery

Dan’s research project into shunting RSS around the inertnet gets a sickeningly lovely homepage. If it doesn’t mangle my Atomness too much, I might start pushing my feeds out with this tonight.
