This is an old page from Rod Begbie's blog.
It only exists in an attempt to prevent linkrot. No new content will be added to this site, and links and images are liable to be broken. Check out begbie.com to find where I'm posting stuff these days.
Really in-depth front-end web performance tool. Like the “Net” tab of Firebug, but more so. Windows and IE (!) only.
Ugly frontpage, but potentialy very useful quick-and-dirty online whiteboard app.
Wicked-nifty Javascript UI library, generously open-sourced by Yahoo. Using this with Django and Lucene, I was able to knock out a pretty decent AJAXy autocompleting search box within 24 hours of opening my big yap in a meeting and suggesting it as a feature. (The “Design Pattern Library” is also worth a read to anyone who juggles HTML)
Rather spiffy browser-based TODO.TXT from Aaron “Greasemonkey” Boodman. Minimal, secure, distributed, and AJAXtastic.
37signals’s new site — an AJAXy chat tool. No installation necessary, more usable than IRC, and less susceptible to shonky firewalls than instant messaging, but I’m not sure I’m comfortable with 37signals hosting transcripts of business conversations & files.
Finally had a chance to play with FeedLounge. It’s a very nice interface, that’s for sure — I’d recommend this over Bloglines to new RSS users. I’m probably going to stick with self-hosted Gregarius for now, though, since it’s free and free.
Rather intriguing — An attractive UI for bookmarklets.
This is an archive of groovmother.com, the old blog run by Rod Begbie — A Scottish geek who lives in San Francisco, CA.
