Decent tower defense game. Sponsored by Microsoft, works fantastically in Chrome, no plugins required.

“You get a cow. You can click on it. In six hours, you can click it again. Clicking earns you clicks. You can buy custom “premium” cows through micropayments (the Cow Clicker currency is called “mooney”), and you can buy your way out of the time delay by spending it. You can publish feed stories about clicking your cow, and you can click friends’ cow clicks in their feed stories. Cow Clicker is Facebook games distilled to their essence.”
Beautifully designed and implemented board game for iPhone. I’m still getting to grips with the strategy, but it’s rather fine.
Glitch, the forthcoming multiplayer game from some ex-Flickr-folks. Looks gorgeous, although my MacBook’s fan is already whirring at the prospect of all that Flash gameplay.
Nifty augmented-reality iPhone game. The 3GS’s compass app might have seemed pointless, but opening up these kinds of possibilities makes it worthwhile!
Gorgeous and fun point-n-click adventure. I played one screen and then paid for the full version.
Will be interesting to see how this compares to the just-released Tap Tap Revenge 3. TTR3 costs $0.99 and has a fairly weak collection of free songs, and a small but decent music store. Rock Band will come with 20 tracks from bands you’ve heard of, but will likely be in the $10 range.
And… AND!!! New Monkey Island game in an episodic stylee from the folks who did the recent Sam & Max. Woo!
The original Monkey Island game, “remastered” and coming soon to Xbox. “How appropriate. You fight like a cow.”
So much imagination in one little game. Only $3, and well worth it if you like flashgames like Grow Cube or Feed the Head.
Blog from ngmoco:) on developing games for iPhone. Some fantastic insights.
The games on this list that I’ve played have all been top-notch, so I’ll have to sample a few more.
Short, fun, Flash approximation of ye olde LucasArts adventures from Homestar Runner. Ace!
Stonking soundtrack to the new Tap Tap Revenge game (Daft Punk, Justice and Chemical Brothers, amongst others), and some trippy-ass visuals. Ace!
Fantastic, highly-addictive and free tower-defense game for iPhone. After three (almost half-hour each) games, having trouble beating Level 30 on Easy.
I loved the jailbroken version pre-App Store, and I’m delighted that a polished version is now available. Only $5 for a buttload of challenging puzzle games.
Stonking little indie game, finally officially released. Filled with bizarreness and imagination, I’ve been having a blast with it.
Great puzzle collection for the (jailbrokened) iPhone. Some are a bit fiddly to play with your finger as stylus, but overall they’re a lot of fun.
Wine for OS X and Linux especially designed to play graphically-intensive Windows games. The Orange Box and its contents are supported, and Audio-Surf ran OK for me, with some minor resolution-based oddness. Not sure it’s worth $40, though, when I can just reboot to Boot Camp.
Target is stocking t-shirts which come with CD-ROMs of games from the Experimental Gameplay Project. Off-the-wall short-form games *and* silk-screened T-shaped clothing? It’s like they’re IN MY MIND!
An outstandingly fun Windows game: Drive a car over coloured blocks on a track generated by an MP3 of your choosing. Pick something mellow, and you get a relaxing low-scoring game. But if you want a challenge, throw some pumping techno its way. Works very well with Chemical Brothers and Pixies, I find. Best use of Digital Signal Processing ever!
I’m In Like With You branches out into wickedly-addictive multiplayer Tetris. They even let you play without joining the site.
Sounds fucking AMAZING! Do I dare buy a $300 console, just to play a $5 game?
Best game so-far for the iPhone. And once again I say: If this is the awesomeness unleashed by reverse-engineering, imagine what might be possible if Apple ever get around to releasing a proper development environment for the iPhone.
Arkanoid for the DS will be packaged with a paddle controller so you can play the game as it was always intended. This makes me colossally happy.
Java applet that emulates an x86 PC. Kind of interesting, but what’s really cool? They’re demoing it with lots of classic PC games — Prince of Persia, Commander Keen, Lemmings… If they had “Jones in the Fast Lane”, it’d be perfect!
Excellent Flash strategy-ish game which cost me about 20 minutes of productivity. So far.
Multiplayer Jet Set Willy! Play as teams collecting objects, or capture the flag mode. It’s like my entire childhood was leading up to this.
Open source Worms-a-like. Far too many of my student hours were taken up playing “Worms 2” against my flatmates. Admittedly, most of that time was taken up by giggling as we named our worms things like “Sean Is A Virgin” and “Jim’s Cock”, but I think the game was fun too.
Flash games designed to be played on the Wii’s Internet Channel. What a clever way of getting “homebrew” games onto the Wii!
There’s a proper 2D Sonic game for the DS?! Why was I not alerted to this sooner? I love me some spiny blue action.
Silly little true-or-false game from answers.com. Good fun.
Fun rant predicting an impending crash. “We’ve now advanced from realistic 3D to slightly prettier 3D and… even slightlier prettier 3D with slightly better reflection effects and slightly better animated water ripples and - oh, look! This game has the most realistic fog yet!”
